Microsoft company announced a public BETA web office which is available worldwide for testing (this is the widely used product from Microsoft - Microsoft Office software).

There already was (for several months) live Office from Microsoft, yet only for private beta program, said Microsoft. Now days anyone can access a trial version of this new solution with no charge.

Office Live Workspace enables people to store and work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications on the Web through any computer with an Internet connection. The used PC does not have to have the Microsoft Office installed on its hard drive. That means, there is quite easy way of handeling the office documents, and share them for further use and needs. There is no mor need to carry all the importatnt documents and files on your other solutions such flash devices etc…

You have the ability to store over 1,000 files, and also have the ability to pass access to your files to your freinds, colleagues or just family.

Office Live Workspace is part of the software-plus-services strategy that Microsoft unveiled last year. The campaign is meant to bolster the company’s presence in the booming Web services market while protecting its multibillion-dollar packaged software franchise.
“Microsoft’s assault on the Web is in no small part a response to advances by arch rival Google. In recent months, the search engine company has introduced a host of new on line services. Of those, the biggest threat to Microsoft is Google Apps. The offering features free or low-cost versions of Office-style productivity applications that are hosted on the Web.

The advantage of Google’s approach is that, unlike Office Live, users don’t need to purchase any pricey boxed software for the service to work. The downside is that users for the most part can’t get to the applications without an Internet connection.”

Microsoft plans to give out the Office Live beta programs in other languages soon.
